I have gone to a good home!

after sitting untouched for several years, I was put on ebay a month ago, sold, not collected and resold to a local restorer!!

Happy days are here again, he says I should be back on the road within a year!!

I was the victim of an attempted theft/rape/pillage in 03/07.

An attempt was made against me! They pressed the wrong buttons and I almost self-destructed!

Look at the damage the young whipper-snappers did to me...

Some Bastards! tried to steal me!
Reversed me into a wall, and caused £2,500 of damage!! Never mind!
Insurance payout! Keep vehicle, change Dormobile...Job done!

Got hit last night!

Some person(s) as yet unknown! Attempted to steal me!
They entered me! by unauthodox means knocked me out of gear and reversed me into a brick wall with high metal gate posts!
OW! That hurt!

Will post pics after the Dyfed-Powys Heddlu (police) have seem them!

Maybe a write-off, will be expensive!

On the plus side, we have an original BL Sherpa Repair Manual!
That might help!!!

Not Working...Again!

Yep! Got back on Thurs. night, been running good all week, less top-ups and plodding along as (normal).

Friday afternoon! Turn key and...nothing!!

Starter Motor? Battery? or Damp!

For those of you that do not know, it can get rather cold and wet 'ere in Cymru!!!

But! A 1983 camper such as myself should be built to take this!
I was born when times were harsh!
The last remenance of British motor engineering! FREIGHT ROVER! Not LDV, not BMW and not these little Japanese types!

Since I was bought in Jan. 2007, there have been 4-5 FR Sherpas on EBAY! None have come close to me though!!

Just lost ebay bid for manual! Doh!
A 1977 petrol model, smaller and more compact! on ebay £1400 (reserve not met!) w/ 3 days to go!

Ah well! Let blokes fiddle some more! I quite like it!

Crazy Week!

Go figure? C init!

After being touched up last week, I am now being topped up!!

A clutch problem, so i'm told!

The resevoir needs filling every 40 miles of clutch use! Answer: Don't ride the clutch!

Was put up on ramps last week! "Looks V. tidy underneath!"
Door needs relpacing to Dormobile.

£10.00 per new reg. plate?
With authentic CYMRU sticker!
(Thinkin' Permenant Marker and Transfer Sticker!!? £2.99).

Removing carpeting...(Blue and Green should never be seen!)

Magnetic locks for cupboard doors and draws!
This stops the hound from jumpin' out the way!

New travel battery from small car which runs some lights and electrics!

Food, Heat!, Light, Sound, Water and Repair gear; like their is no tomorrow!

Two men fiddling for £65! Bargain!!

Yep! After my supposed gearbox malfunction incident last week, my owner called out a 'mobil! hippy mechanic'.

So, two men turned up the other morning, opened my front door and started playing around with me! And, I hadn't really requested this service! Nice though it was.

After much poking and proding, they stripped my gearbox and rebuilt it all in one day!! No problem there then!!

Day two (or 1 1/2), if you look at the invisible receipt!!
Clutch cylinder stripped!!! OOOh Err, that tickled!!

Leak found on ?Slave Cylinder? ... but can't find the leaky bit!
"NEED TO TRY HARDER. Boys!!"

So after two days proding and poking, I am again in full working order...
Except all the sundry works that need to be maintained on a regular occasion!

Next...Brakes...Always a good thing! They stop me! (Hitting things!)

* I have got a new pic. but its on another comp. As soon as they get round to copyin' it over, I will upload it!

Now when! What I appear to need is a Freight Rover Perkins Diesel 1994cc Gearbox mounting (inc. stick!) for a 5 speed box (+reverse!)

Got a bloke saying "I can do it" but hasn't! Yet.

My man has bought me a rather pretty front grille badge with my name on it! Sherpa.

I have to go for the chrome affect. Original front chrome grille and classic austin/leyland chomed bumpers, some guards on the lights and spots!

The is also talk of a 'Communications Centre'
OOOOhhh! A few batteries, CB's and Tapes, I suppose!

He's even looking at a friend for me...

I think we wants to do a Tony Hart! but I 'ain't MORPH!!

One other small thing, I forgot to mention!! I have a gas problem! That is, I excrete it, but do not correctly utilise the facility! ie. No working cooker!

Oh dear I could whinge on about my gripes all day after all I am a 20something campervan!

They spent all Sat. AM, discussing what? they were going to do with me, before spending ALL Sat.PM, tring to do it!

Finally left around 18:30 3/2/7

Tried to sneek past the Gatekeepers' Lodge (In a big 2.0l diesel camper, with a blowing exhaust!!)...Succeeded!
Pulled up in carpark, let hound out! Set bed up and tried to connect gas! Mmmm. Doesn't work! Luckily, decided to bring Gas Heater!!
No food then! except crisps, sweets and alcohol.

10AM Sun. Morning! Woken up to drive across Carpark to Rangers Lodge for morning coffee!
Then 30mins later driven home 10 miles and left...all alone!!
Mon. Driven 16 miles into LLANGADOG. Laughed at abit and driven 16 miles home again! Revolt!! Hippy tries to reverse me up hill!, so I break!

£200 for new gearbox! Bloody Hippies!!
